Marketing & Biomedical Communications Intern

The Marketing & Biomedical Communications Intern works with the Biomedical Communications team within Cardiology Marketing and Digital Enablement (CMDE) to develop and execute new content, primarily for promotional materials and campaigns. Projects may include animations, clinical illustrations/workflows, training materials, trade exhibitions, UX/UI applications, data visualization, advertising and general marketing collateral (print and digital) to support sales and/or marketing efforts. The Intern will gain exposure to biomedical communications projects at Boston Scientific Cardiology, with a focus on the marketing, promotion and sales of innovative medical devices, while interfacing with a range of stakeholders and SMEs such as Activation specialists, Product Management, Clinical Education, Digital Marketing, Creative Marketing & Events, Regulatory, Intellectual Property, R&D and Quality.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Work with stakeholder teams to research, write, design, and edit training or promotional collateral that meets regulatory and legal requirements and is appropriate for the intended audience. Collateral may include training and selling aids, medical graphics, animations, brochures, and technical instructions.
  • Acquire knowledge of assigned products, messaging and clinical procedures by working with Product Managers, Clinical Specialists, Sales and/or R&D teams.
  • Liaising with various cross-functional teams (Regulatory, IP/Legal, R&D, Quality) to ensure content meets business requirements.
  • In all actions, demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality by maintaining compliance to the Quality Policy and all other documented quality processes and procedures.
  • Other duties as required.

Required qualifications:

  • Actively enrolled in or a recent graduate from the Master of Science in Biomedical Communications (MScBMC) program at the University of Toronto, or a similar program
  • Software experience: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, After Effects; Maxon Cinema 4D or similar 3D software
  • Ability to translate complex scientific content into visual communications for specific audiences
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office

Preferred qualifications:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Independent, self-motivated, and results oriented
