Manufacturing Engineering Technician II - 3rd Shift

The Core Technology Polymers (CTP) team is looking for a motivated individual to join the tool room on 3rd shift and support extrusion operations. This person will be responsible for assembling and repairing the tooling, tips, and dies for head setups in our extrusion equipment while maintaining accurate records of the setup and repair activities. This role will require collaboration with engineering, production, and quality teams to identify and resolve tool-related issues.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Complete tooling setups and builds based off prints, Process Parameter Sheet specifications, and Preventive Maintenance system request
  • Disassemble, bake, blast, and clean tooling from completed runs
  • Inspect new and existing tooling to ensure compliance with print specifications
  • Track and maintain tooling inventory, build and continue relationships with vendors to replenish stock
  • Identify and troubleshoot equipment problems to minimize down time
  • Identifies and implements corrective actions for manufacturing related issues
  • Modify existing and develop new tooling and fixtures
  • Revise existing documents, processes, and/or methods to correct or improve processes/product
  • Work with vendors/suppliers to procure and install tooling, fixtures, and/or equipment
  • Participate in the redesign and/or development of tooling with the Process Development team to enable the integration of new products
  • Contribute to tool room Continuous Improvement initiatives to enhance tool performance, reduce downtime, improve overall manufacturing efficiency, and other Value Improvement Projects (VIP)

Required qualifications:

  • 1 year with High School Diploma and/or equivalent experience, training, or apprenticeships

Preferred qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of experience in a tool room or similar manufacturing environment
  • Experience building tools
  • Basic understanding of medical device documentation requirements
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment

Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs.
