Warehouse Robotics Operation Technician

The Warehouse Robotics Operation Technician will work as a key member of our multidisciplinary teams to test, set up testing infrastructure and maintain our robots. This role will support all aspects of robot operation (primarily indoor). This will include preparing robots for daily testing, operating video cameras, communicating with engineers and technicians about the status of the robots and setting up props for daily testing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive software and hardware testing on robots, meticulously documenting outcomes, key findings and results.
  • Collaborate with SQA, service technicians and engineers to document, troubleshoot, and efficiently resolve issues.
  • Ensure all relevant documentation is accurately completed, adhering to industry standards and company procedures.
  • Present robot demonstrations for potential customers and high-level visitors.
  • Engage with software developers, hardware engineers, and SEIT teams to optimize testing processes.
  • Manage and maintain the robotics testing lab environment, ensuring operational readiness of video and safety systems and specialized tooling.
  • Set up new testing infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols and operational standards for all lab infrastructure and equipment.
  • Maintain operations equipment, repairing tools and equipment as needed or coordinating with vendors for maintenance.
  • Train customers and employees on proper operational procedures.
  • Maintain and manage basic networking and electrical power systems.
  • Submit purchase requisitions and communicate with purchasing and procurement teams.
  • Reliable in physically demanding roles, including lifting and equipment handling.
  • On occasion, support deployment, safety and hardware service teams with infrastructure, safety system, ecosystem and robot repair and assembly.
  • Stack or handle boxes up to 50lbs.

Required Skills:

  • Technical Skills:

    • Experience in electronics, electrical systems, mechanics, or machining; ability to interpret basic schematics.
    • Proficiency in tools such as Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides), Jira, and Salesforce; familiarity with shared network environments.
    • Aptitude for diverse user interfaces (keyboards, game controllers, etc.) and swift adoption of new technologies.
    • Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
    • Experience with hand and power tools.
    • Experience with command-line operating systems such as Linux.
    • Adept in hardware testing procedures.
  • Professional Skills:

    • Excellent verbal and written communication, able to convey information across various teams.
    • Strong organizational habits, attention to detail and proven initiative and ownership of projects from start to completion.
    • Able to handle shifting priorities, new challenges, and diverse tasks.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and in a small, tightly knit team-based environment, maintaining productivity in a highly fluid, multi-person environment.
    • Strong customer focus, providing outstanding support to internal stakeholders.
    • Collaborative spirit: Eager to work with different departments.
    • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control systems, and industry standards.

Preferred Skills:

  • Hands-on experience with robotics platforms or automation systems.
  • Experience in a labor field, such as moving, rigging, maintenance, or tree-work.
  • Familiarity with CAD software (SolidWorks, CATIA) for mechanical layouts or component inspection.
  • Experience with graphic or visual design tools (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite) for presentations or documentation.
  • Forklift or scissor lift certification.
  • Prior exposure to manufacturing, logistics, or warehousing environments.
  • Understanding of quality control methodologies and test validation processes.

Physical Requirements & Travel:

  • Ambulatory and manual dexterity sufficient to perform testing, repairs, and lifting (up to 50 lbs).
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Reliable transportation is required for this position.
  • Up to 10% travel.
