Systems Engineer, Staff Algorithms

At our location in Darmstadt we are currently looking for a Systems Engineer, Staff Algorithms (m/f/d) to take a senior expert role in the development, validation and technical safeguarding of complex algorithm-based system solutions.
Your Tasks
- Lead technical focal point for algorithm-related system topics, including responsibility for system reviews and technical release decisions
- Representation of algorithms and system-level solutions towards internal and external stakeholders
- Subject matter expert role for complex algorithm development topics, applying holistic solution approaches
- Responsibility for the development and integration of algorithms, including diagnostic, state estimation and control concepts
- Contribution to product development projects and change management activities, including technical impact assessment and coordination of changes
- Development, implementation and continuous improvement of algorithm-related processes, methods and standards
- Execution of complex analysis and derivation of corrective measures
- Coordination and alignment with cross-functional and international expert teams along the entire development lifecycle
- Preparation, documentation and communication of system-level results and technical recommendations to relevant stakeholders
Your Profile
- PhD or Master's degree in engineering, mathematics, physics or a comparable technical field, or equivalent qualification with strong systems and controls expertise
- Extensive professional experience in BMS algorithm and system development in an automotive or comparable environment
- Strong expertise in model-based software development, simulation and control algorithms (e.g. MATLAB/Simulink)
- Strong knowledge of estimator and observer-based control methods, e.g. for state-of-health or state-of-charge algorithms
- Experience in complex system modeling and simulation
- High level of autonomy and technical accountability in complex development contexts
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills, combined with structured and solution-oriented thinking
- Excellent communication skills and experience in functional leadership and coordination of interdisciplinary teams
