Job Purpose

The Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design and development of mechanical components and assemblies for high-voltage power electronics within Power Drive Systems. The role focuses on delivering robust, high-quality solutions suitable for high-volume automotive manufacturing and operation in demanding environmental conditions, including thermal, vibration, sealing, and reliability requirements. The position spans the full product development lifecycle, from concept and detailed design through prototyping, validation, and industrialization, ensuring compliance with customer specifications and internal engineering standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support and, where appropriate, lead mechanical engineering and CAD activities for new product development and ongoing projects.
  • Develop, modify, and validate 3D mechanical designs using Siemens NX (or equivalent CAD tools).
  • Create and maintain engineering documentation in accordance with internal design and quality processes.
  • Support prototype builds, including part definition, ordering, and coordination with suppliers.
  • Participate in mechanical testing, verification, and validation activities, including reporting and documentation of results.
  • Contribute to engineering change management (ECR/ECO) processes.
  • Collaborate with suppliers during development, sourcing, and industrialization phases.
  • Interface with internal stakeholders and customers to ensure alignment with technical requirements and specifications.
  • Interpret and analyze customer specifications and translate them into engineering deliverables.
  • Participate in design reviews and cross-functional project meetings.

What We Are Looking For

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
  • Strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles and product development processes.
  • Proficiency in 3D CAD modelling (Siemens NX preferred; CATIA also acceptable).
  • Understanding of GD&T principles and their application in design and manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes (plastic injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, die casting) and their impact on design decisions.
  • Structured and analytical approach to engineering problem-solving.
  • Basic understanding of DFMA, DFA/DFM principles and DFMEA methodologies.
  • Experience or exposure to automotive or high-volume manufacturing environments is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of simulation tools (e.g., Ansys or equivalent FEA software) is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal).
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional, multicultural teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • High level of reliability, time management, and professional discipline.

Recruitment Process

  • CV Review - Your application and CV will be reviewed to assess your qualifications and experience in relation to the role requirements.
  • Phone Interview (approximately 30 minutes) - This initial conversation is designed to discuss your background, expectations, and answer any preliminary questions.
  • Technical Interview(s) (1 to 1.5 hours, one or two rounds) - Conducted by the manager and an additional team member, this stage focuses on evaluating your technical knowledge and problem-solving skills. The interview can be held via Teams or at our office.
  • Final Interview (45 minutes) - A meeting with a representative from the HR department to ensure alignment with our company culture and discuss the next steps. This interview might also take place via Teams or at our office.
