Cloud Engineer

Manages, administers, supports and enhances cloud environments, ensuring continuous improvement and rapid problem resolution. Design, implement, and manage cloud infrastructure solutions for defense and intelligence community clients. Design and implement secure, scalable AWS cloud architectures. Deploy and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC). Configure and optimize AWS services, including compute, storage, networking, and security. Implement cloud security controls and ensure compliance with DoD requirements. Automate cloud operations and deployment pipelines. Monitor cloud infrastructure performance and costs. Collaborate with security teams to implement and maintain security best practices. Provide technical expertise for cloud strategy and architecture decisions.

Basic Qualifications:

• 3+ years of experience with AWS cloud engineering
• Experience with using Linux operating system and Bash scripting
• Experience scripting in Python, Bash, or PowerShell
• Experience with designing, implementing, and maintaining software applications
• Knowledge of AWS networking and security services
• Knowledge of AWS core services such as EC2, S3, or Lambda
• Ability to operate in classified environments supporting mission-critical systems
• TS/SCI clearance
• AWS Associate-level Certification such as Solutions Architect Associate, SysOps Administrator Associate, or Developer Associate Certification
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II or DoD 8410 CSSP Certification

Additional Qualifications:

• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps practices, and IaC tools such as Terraform and CloudFormation
• Experience interacting with AWS APIs programmatically
• Knowledge of AWS security best practices and compliance frameworks
• Knowledge of IAM roles, policies, users, and groups

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
