Our Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) provide experienced-based knowledge in their consultation and strategy tailoring for each acquisition pathway and functional area dealing with weapons systems acquisition programs, maintenance/modernization programs, and sustainment programs to deliver better solutions faster.

We are seeking a Senior Operations and Communications Specialist to support our Patuxent River, MD customer. The Senior Operations and Communications Specialist will provide support across the Tomahawk Weapons System Program Office, PMA-280, and directly support the Program Manager and Principal Deputy Program Manager.

Functional Description: The Senior Operations and Communications Specialist conducts organizational studies and evaluations, conducts work simplification and measurement studies, and prepares operations and procedures manuals to assist management in operating more efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Review and provide recommendations regarding program documentation.
  • Prepare documentation required for program reviews and briefs such as Annual Program of Record (APOR) and Executive Review Board (ERB) briefs.
  • Participate with senior program leaders in strategic planning and formulation of executive level briefs/presentations.
  • Develop, prepare, and consolidate input and coordinate the production of professional quality copies for program and executive level briefs/presentations presented by the PM, PDPM, or IPT to the following entities including but not limited to: PEO(U&W), AIR-0.0, ASN(RD&A), OUSD, and the Fleet.
  • Review Congressional language and suggest strategies of improving communication among congressional staff and program office. Respond to Congressional, DoD, other Government agencies, media or industry inquiries, Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) audits, and Congressional testimony.

Required Education

• MS or MA degree in a business, management or relevant technical discipline is desired OR a BS or BA degree and an additional four (4) years of experience. A minimum of twenty (20) years of experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in performing the duties described in the functional area. Candidate must have at least four (4) years professional experience a NAVAIR Program Office. Typically works on high-visibility or mission critical aspects of a given program and performs all functional duties independently. May oversee the efforts of less senior staff and/or be responsible for the efforts of all staff assigned to a specific job.

Desired Experience

• The preferred candidate will be a previous Navy Surface Warfare Officer or Senior Enlisted with NAVSEA experience

Must work onsite 100% of the time at NAVAIR, located Lexington Park, Maryland.

Must possess a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required. Top Secret Security Clearance is preferred.

Starting salary range between $125,000 - $160,000 annually.
