Clinical Services Representative (full - time)

Job Description

Provide medical assistance under the direction of a physician or other licensed provider. Performs select duties for the promotion of health in the care of patients and delivers care according to practice protocols and procedures. Supports full front-office registration, check-in and check-out duties as directed by the practice manager.

Clinical Duties:

• Interviews patients and record their medical history.
• Measures patients' vital signs, such as their blood pressure and weight.
• Helps physicians with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments.
• Gives patients injections or medications as directed by physician or licensed provider and as permitted by state law (upon completion of clinical competency)
• Collects and prepares samples of blood and other specimens for laboratory tests.
• Enter patient information, such as their vital signs, medical history, and test results into medical records.
• Maintains inventory of medical and office supplies
• Takes clinical phone calls and patient portal advice requests; send appropriate messages to LPN/RN pool for triage or provider for direction.
• Provides test and lab results to patients as directed by nurse/provider
• Performs clinical skills such as phlebotomy, EKGs, POC testing.

Non-Clinical Duties:

• Clean and prepare rooms for patients.
• Scanning/faxing of documents to support clinic operations
• Schedule patient appointments
• Loads insurance, demographics and verifications.
• Completes precertification, prior authorizations, and referrals.
• Accepts/processing patient co-pays, outstanding balances, etc.
• Performs other responsibilities as assigned.
