The Boeing Company, Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA), Digital Engineering PLM (DE-PLM) Organization has an exciting opportunity for a Process Engineer (Associate or Mid-Level) to join the team in Everett, Washington.
The DE-PLM Process Engineer drives end-to-end improvement of engineering, manufacturing, and product support processes across the product lifecycle with a strong emphasis on configuration management (CM), Engineering Bill of Materials, Process Authoring, Development and Maintenance. This role applies industry-standard methods (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma) and advanced planning techniques to establish and maintain consistency between product requirements, design, and configurations. This role will support sustaining processes, applications, program support and development of new PLM Platforms creating Digital Threads.
Position Responsibilities:
- Analyze engineering design, manufacturing, and support requirements to optimize complex processes throughout the value stream using Lean, Six Sigma, and data-driven methods.
- Develop and implement program transition plans to improve existing processes and enable effective adoption of new tools, PLM capabilities, and digital thread practices.
- Apply Lean Product Development, Theory of Constraints, and Critical Chain Project Management to construct program planning models that simulate multi-functional dependencies across the development lifecycle.
- Provide technical integration analysis to engineering teams using virtual visualization and simulation tools; drive early integration and risk reduction.
- Lead and mature configuration management practices to maintain functional, physical, build, and support integration status, ensuring accurate, controlled product data across change processes.
- Analyze specific product configurations and requirements for completeness, compliance, and traceability; ensure alignment across engineering, supplier, manufacturing, and support domains.
- Partner with Supplier Quality, Manufacturing, Certification/Airworthiness, PLM/IT, and Program teams to harmonize changes, improve data integrity and accessibility, and reduce audit and rework risk.
- Contribute to PLM roadmap definition, tool enablement, and process standardization; champion continuous improvement and metrics-based governance.
