The Boeing Company Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is seeking a Flight Engineering Manager (Level K) to lead the Aerodynamic Performance team within Flight Sciences. This position is based in Everett, Washington. The Aerodynamic Performance team supports the entire airplane life cycle—from initial concept through to the retirement of the last airplane in our customers' fleets. The successful candidate will be passionate about leading challenging technical work across multiple programs, driving process improvements, ensuring technical excellence, and fostering the professional growth of Aerodynamic Performance Engineers.
Position Responsibilities:
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry. 5+ years of experience in the flight sciences / aero-performance domain. Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership."
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Experience with aircraft performance analysis processes and tools. 3+ years of experience leading or managing engineering teams in flight engineering or related fields. Experience working with regulatory agencies. Knowledge of aerospace engineering design concepts, processes, and techniques. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to provide proactive leadership in dynamic and ambiguous environments to drive technical excellence. Ability to translate diverse perspectives within a team to develop strategies, make informed decisions, and implement innovative business models or process improvements. Act as a change agent by identifying strengths and weaknesses in existing operating models, tools, and processes, and collaborating with others to define and implement improvements.
