Experienced Propulsion Trouble Shooting Engineer (Fuel Systems & Fleet Support)

Boeing India Engineering is currently looking for an Experienced Propulsion Trouble Shooting Engineer (Fuel Systems & Fleet Support) to join the team in Bangalore (campus), India. This position will focus on providing 24/7 support to Boeing commercial airplane customers. This position offers a unique opportunity to work complex technical challenges in support of safety operation and return to service.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Extensive troubleshooting on all or at least most of the listed installed on commercial airplanes with regards to maintenance and operations - ATA 12 SERVICING - ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, ATA 28 Fuel, ATA 73 ENGINE - FUEL AND CONTROL, ATA 26 – Fire Protection
  • Extensive knowledge of Electrical wiring Interconnect Systems, Good understanding of Electrical Engineering design life cycle, Wire Harnes, Wire Installations
  • Provides technical, design and informational support for basic production, product support or in-service issues. Troubleshoots aircraft system problems consistent with operational protocols.
  • Reviews various Boeing documentation (e.g., maintenance documentation, parts list, component manuals, etc.) to identify solution(s) for in-service concerns and look proactively for potential future fleet solutions.
  • Reviews drawings and installations to ensure customer questions/concerns are resolved.
  • Supports and/or creates and provides basic technical documentation (e.g. Fleet Team Digest articles, service letters, drawings, specifications, documents, data sets, design folders, test requirements documents, manuals) in accordance with engineering processes and procedures for internal reference or external delivery.
  • Assists with the study and assessment of technology development by gathering data, supporting testing and documenting findings.
  • Supports review of technical design, analysis, and production by reviewing documentation, participating in design reviews, and observing tests and audits to ensure compliance.
  • Assists with the investigation of problems to provide engineering design disposition of discrepancies.
  • Supports and/or leads the research of technical, operational and quality issues that cannot be resolved by the customer.
  • Assists in designing and/or providing analysis of interim and final engineering solutions to return airplanes to revenue service.
  • Works with and possibly directing cross-functional teams to conduct root cause analysis and develop dispositions for complex design non-conformances.
  • Assists in the development of customer correspondence for continued safe operation and maintenance of equipment.
  • Assists in solving problems and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle.
  • The position requires flexibility to address emergent issues and important airline meetings off-hours and may require an occasional off-shift work schedule to support the fleet operating 24 hours/7 days a week/365 day of the year.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor's degree or higher is required as a BASIC QUALIFICATION.
  • Full Time recognized Bachelor of Engineering or Technology (4 years) with 8 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master's and related work experience)

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors' Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering / master's degree in electrical, Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Additional AME credentials preferable
  • B1/B2 applicable license is added advantage
  • Overall Experience 10+ Years
  • Experience with systems engineering, Fuel Systems, Fire Protection and Electrical Harness Installations
  • Extensive troubleshooting on all or at least most of the listed installed on commercial airplanes with regards to maintenance and operations - ATA 12 SERVICING - ROUTINE MAINTENANCE, ATA 28 Fuel, ATA 73 ENGINE - FUEL AND CONTROL, ATA 26 – Fire Protection
  • Extensive knowledge of Electrical wiring Interconnect Systems, Good understanding of Electrical Engineering design life cycle, Wire Harnes, Wire Installations
  • Experience with Boeing 7-series airplanes.
  • Experience supporting end users in a customer service role is highly preferrable
  • Conversant with aircraft maintenance manuals (AMM and FIM), IPC, WDM, CMM, AHM, and service documentation (FTD, SLs, etc.).
  • Experience in system's failure analysis, root cause analysis, and troubleshooting on Boeing commercial airplane models.
  • Experience in handling of repair, maintenance and retrofit processes, practices, and documentation.
  • Experience in handling airplane's maintenance and flight operation documentation.
  • Knowledge of the Airworthiness Directives and related Service documents.
  • Knowledge of aircraft safety and quality management systems.
  • Good verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience collaborating with multiple team functions.
  • Willingness to expand into technical areas without prior experience.
