Equipment And Tool Engineer (Associate Or Experienced)

The Boeing Company Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) is seeking an Associate or Experienced Equipment and Tool Engineer (Level 2 or 3) to support the manufacturing and assembly of the Space Launch System (SLS) Core Stage (CS) and Exploration Upper Stage (EUS) at the Michoud Assembly Facility (MAF) in New Orleans Louisiana.

A successful candidate in this role will have passion, creativity, and an insatiable desire for process improvement and efficiency. They will also have a strong desire to be out in the factory, interacting with mechanics, and directly supporting the production system. In Production Engineering, working as a Tooling Engineer, we need highly responsible professionals committed to upholding the highest standards of safety, quality, and integrity.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Supports the evaluation of program and project requirements, develops moderately complex equipment and tooling concepts and designs solutions for the Production System.
  • Compiles and analyzes technical data to determine the effects on product engineering design and rate estimates for equipment and tooling.
  • Ensures compliance with safety, producibility, maintainability, reliability, ergonomic factors and regulatory requirements.
  • Validates contractual performance milestones, maintains configuration control, conducts reviews, prepares plans for productions readiness, preventative maintenance, and spares.
  • Conducts training for Production and Maintenance personnel.
  • Develops and implements moderately complex work-arounds and maintains configuration of hardware, software and documentation.
  • Supports studies for disposition of assets.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement.
  • 2+ years of related work experience in fields such as Tool Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or Design Engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience using basic Microsoft Office and office computing systems.
  • 2+ years of experience reading and comprehending engineering tooling drawings.
  • 1+ years of experience modeling products/components in a 3D computer modeling environment.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Master's Degree from an accredited course of study in a STEM field.
  • Familiar with CATIA and CREO.
  • Familiar with product configuration management.
  • Familiar following the procedures of a production quality management systems.
  • Familiar with receiving requirements and writing outsource specifications leveraging industry standards and best practices.
  • Familiar developing mitigations and work-around plans in a manufacturing setting.

Relocation: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Associate (Level 2) Summary pay range: $76,500 - $103,500

Experienced (Level 3) Summary pay range: $90,100 - $121,900
