Durability & Damage Tolerance Engineer

Position responsibilities include:
- Leading development of multiple test plans and configurations, supporting test execution, and analyzing/reporting test results to validate and verify recommendations for structural components to meet requirements and specifications.
- Providing high-quality decisions based on analysis of test data as it applies to aircraft structural integrity.
- Defining and documenting aircraft structures certification and test results to ensure customer and regulatory agency requirements are satisfied.
- Leading and performing durability and damage tolerance evaluations of aircraft structures.
- Developing, executing, and interpreting fatigue and fracture mechanics analyses.
- Working under minimal direction while also leading a team of engineers.
- Working closely with Boeing technical experts to standardize enterprise test efforts.
- Working closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment and fulfillment of fatigue requirements.
- Demonstrating strong oral and written communications skills.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. Final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic qualifications (required skills/experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science.
- 3+ years of work-related experience performing structural fatigue and fracture analysis.
- 3+ years of work-related experience in fatigue and damage tolerance analysis.
- 3+ years of experience understanding and writing engineering reports based on analysis results, test findings, and maintenance reports and present results.
- 3+ years of work-related experience with full-scale fatigue testing and/or other structural and material testing plans.
Preferred qualifications (desired skills/experience):
- Level 3 - 5+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelor’s OR 3+ years work-related experience with a Master’s OR 1+ years of work-related experience with a PhD.
- Level 4 - 9+ years of work-related experience with a Bachelor’s OR 7+ years work-related experience with a Master’s OR 4+ years of work-related experience with a PhD.
- Active Secret Clearance.
- Knowledge of fixed wing military aircraft platforms.
- Knowledge of Aircraft Structural Integrity Program and its requirements.
- Experience with structural analysis software such as PATRAN/NASTRAN, StressCheck and Lifeworks.
- Experience with Spectrum Generation.

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary pay range (level 3): $102,000 - $138,000
Summary pay range (level 4): $124,100 - $167,900
