Design Engineer, (Associate Or Experienced)
The Boeing Company's Mobility Surveillance and Bombers (MS&B) team is looking for a Mid-Level Structures & Payloads Design Engineer to join the exciting KC-46 Structures Team based in Tukwila, WA.
Position Responsibilities:
- Develops, integrates, and documents structural and interior payload system requirements to establish the system design
- Develops, maintains, and modifies structural and interior payload system and component designs using 3โD CAD tools and other design methods
- Provides product definition to other engineering groups, production operations, suppliers, and external customers throughout the product lifecycle
- Performs and integrates analytical and test results to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications
- Manages supplier development, test, and production activities; coordinates with suppliers to optimize design and achieve program goals
- Develops new design and analysis processes and tools to improve effectiveness, quality, and efficiency of the development effort
- Investigates emerging technologies and develops concepts for future product designs to meet projected requirements
- Works under general direction
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- 2 or more years' experience in Structural Design and Analysis of Aerospace industry.
- 2 or more years of CATIA V5 experience
- Basic understanding of structural engineering fundamentals including airframe/component design and materials
This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. ยง120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- 7 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 3 or more years of experience in Structural Design and Requirements for Modification and or Repairs on transport class aircrafts
- 2 or more years of Structural Design in supporting Manufacturing
- 2 or more years of experience with Design for Producibility / DFM/A and producibility trade-offs
- 1 or more years of GDT
