Wealth Sales & Service Specialist

Provides a superior level of customer service and portfolio management in lending services for all existing and potential clients and in support of a team of specialists and relationship managers. Provides technical expertise for proactive credit analysis, structuring, decisions, and portfolio monitoring. Applies lending expertise to a lending and deposit portfolio of accounts or part of the lending process (e.g. underwriting, funding, monitoring).

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing the preparation of new lending proposals or presentations to clients/prospects.
  • Ensuring new business meets policy and procedures requirements for profitability and risk management.
  • Providing advice and support where needed with a focus on unique and complex credit transactions for prospects and clients.
  • Identifying cross-selling opportunities to increase client penetration for banking, investments and deposits.
  • Negotiating directly with clients on new and existing opportunities.
  • Working directly with clients in the event of deteriorating credit situations.
  • Providing day to day technical support and management of accounts for team members and customers.
  • May act as lead relationship manager.
  • Supporting the sales process and client experience, identifying gaps, issues and best practices.
  • Ensuring timely resolution of all client questions and concerns, both internal and external.
  • Performing client sales & service support activities as required to meet client needs and maintain overall service standards.
  • Making recommendations to senior leaders on strategy and new initiatives, based on an in-depth understanding of the business/group.
  • Acting as a subject matter expert on relevant regulations and policies.
  • May network with industry contacts to gain competitive insights and best practices.
  • Identifying emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making.
  • Recommending business priorities, advising on resource requirements and developing roadmap for strategic execution.
  • Partnering with the leadership team on strategic direction and complex line-of-business projects.
  • Conducting independent analysis and assessment to resolve strategic issues.
  • Supporting the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Acting as the prime subject matter expert for internal/external stakeholders.
  • Collaborating with internal and external stakeholders in order to deliver on business objectives.
  • Coordinating the management of databases; ensuring alignment and integration of data in adherence with data governance standards.
  • Completing comprehensive analysis for risk, financial and profitability rating and assessments.
  • Breaking down strategic problems, and analyzing data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Monitoring and tracking performance, and addressing any issues.
  • Designing and producing regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards.
  • Leading change management programs of varying scope and type, including readiness assessments, planning, stakeholder management, execution, evaluation and sustainment of initiatives.
  • Leading the development of the communication strategy focusing on positively influencing or changing behavior.
  • Collaborating across BMO to develop communications strategies and ensure consistency of messaging, in order to positively influence or change behavior.
  • Ensuring effective processes and controls are in place and adhered to, minimizing risk and maintaining the overall quality of the portfolio within acceptable levels.
  • Leading the execution of operational programs; assessing and adapting as needed to ensure quality of execution.
  • Overseeing the set-up, maintenance, advances / loan drawdowns and related account administration within the terms of the credit authorization and as per guidelines.
  • May provide specialized support for other internal and external regulatory requirements.
  • Identifying business needs, designing/developing tools and training programs; may include delivery of training to audiences.
  • Mitigating identified risks and making credit recommendations/decisions in accordance with sound credit-granting principles and compliance with the Bank's philosophy and principles outlined in corporate risk policy and supporting policies and procedures.
  • Identifying and escalating irregularities and discrepancies to management as per guidelines.
  • Participating in assigned audits and compliance reviews.
  • Ensuring proper adherence to the code of conduct and ethical guidelines.
  • Following security and safeguarding procedures and applying appropriate due diligence for the prevention of loss due to fraud, counterfeiting money laundering or defalcation in accordance with Bank policy.
  • Protecting the Bank's assets by adhering to all banking, investment and lending regulations, policies, and procedures, legal and ethical requirements, process requirements, bank guidelines, and established risk guidelines.
  • Operating at a group/enterprise-wide level and serving as a specialist resource to senior leaders and stakeholders.
  • Applying expertise and thinking creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and to find solutions to problems that can be complex and non-routine.
  • Implementing changes in response to shifting trends.
  • Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Typically 7+ years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • In-depth / expert knowledge of personal (primarily) and commercial credit and non-credit products, monitoring/operational processes and applications.
  • In-depth / expert knowledge of risk management concepts.
  • Expert communication and relationship management skills.
  • Broad and diverse background in financial service industry and expert knowledge of the banking services for the high net worth / ultra high net worth markets.
  • If a Credit Qualifiable job, Credit Qualifications and associated credit knowledge and skills according to the credit portfolio requirements and qualification standards.
  • Seasoned professional with a combination of education, experience and industry knowledge.
  • Verbal & written communication skills - In-depth / Expert.

Salary: $102,000.00 - $190,000.00
