Wealth Sales & Service Assistant
Supports one or more investment advisors (IAs) and IA team and staff, and branch operations with day-to-day administration and provides exceptional client service to support achievement of business objectives. A client-focused role, committed to managing and growing client relationships through the delivery of service and advice.
Responsibilities include:
- Booking meetings with new prospects and preparing introductory package for the prospect/referral.
- Coordinating marketing activities on behalf of the advisory team.
- Scheduling and preparing client portfolio reviews for the Investment Advisors.
- Following up on client inquiries, account maintenance, and new account setups.
- Resolving client complaints in a timely and effective manner.
- Accepting and executing client-initiated trades.
- Handling clients' general day-to-day requests and inquiries.
- Generating reports and documents for IAs and clients.
- Maintaining and organizing client database and client files.
- Monitoring incoming and outgoing assets.
- Administering and processing documentation related to client files and regulatory requirements.
- Monitoring redocumentation of client accounts.
- Ensuring transactions and tasks are appropriately assigned and completed.
- Mentoring and coaching new or junior team members.
- Providing support on technology issues and general inquiries.
- Gathering and distributing information on updates to training, guidelines, technology, and other business-related information.
- Developing rapport and instilling confidence with the client to promote a positive client experience.
- Assisting with managing a portfolio of clients to retain and grow relationships.
- Supporting IA's in individual client investment needs.
- Working collaboratively within the market, BMO partners, and the community.
- Following through on risk and compliance processes.
- Protecting the Bank's assets and clients' assets.
- Maintaining the confidentiality of client and Bank information.
- Completing complex and diverse tasks within given rules/limits.
- Analyzing issues and determining next steps.
- Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications:
- Typically between 3 – 5 years of relevant experience and/or certification in related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Advanced knowledge of investment process and procedures.
- Advanced knowledge of administrative process and procedures.
- Advanced knowledge of proprietary products and services to identify potential products and services to client needs.
- Knowledge of compliance practices and regulations.
- Knowledge of Insurance and group products is an asset.
- Knowledge of Trust and Estate services is an asset.
- Knowledge of Financial/Retirement planning.
- Knowledge of trade processing rules.
- Successful completion of the Canadian Securities Course & Conduct and Practices Handbook.
- Current registration as Investment Representative (IR).
- 10 CO credits/Compliance training over a 2 year cycle to meet Mandatory IIROC Continuing Education requirement.

Salary: $34,200.00 - $63,000.00. Pay Type: Salaried & Commission.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.
