  • We have a gardener.

Health and Medication Support:

  • Monitor general health and well-being.
  • Ensure medication is taken correctly and on time.
  • Check vital signs if necessary (e.g., blood pressure, temperature).

  • Assist with bathing, showering, or using face cloths for hygiene.
  • Support with dressing and maintaining personal cleanliness.

Meal Preparation:

  • Monitor nutritional needs and hydration.

Transportation and Errands:

  • Assist with light shopping or prescription collections if needed.

Helpline:

  • Potentially to be the first point of contact during normal office hours Monday through Friday.
  • Ideally resolve basic issues on the first call without needing to contact a family member.
  • Take message and call family member if the issue can't be resolved.

Weekly Report:

  • A few notes on the visits that week sent by email on a Monday, for the previous weeks visits.

Hours:

Initially, we are considering 2–10 hours per week, divided into 1–4 visits, depending on availability and needs. This could include:

  • Morning visits: 1-2 per weekday to arrive between 10am-11am to assist with getting up, hygiene, and breakfast.
  • Evening visits: 1-2 per weekday to arrive near to 5pm for preparing for bed and ensuring night-time comfort.
  • Occasional extended visits for appointments or other errands.

  • Prior experience in providing care to elderly individuals with mobility and chronic pain issues.
  • Knowledge of basic health monitoring and medication support.
  • Friendly, patient, resilient, and respectful demeanour.
  • Reliable and punctual with strong organizational skills.
  • A full, clean driving licence (for transportation duties).
  • Live within a 5-15 minute drive from Birkenshaw / East Bierley.
  • Enhanced DBS check and references from previous care roles.
  • Please apply to learn more and for suitable applications we will arrange an initial introductory call with one of the family members.
