Software Design Engineer
You will join a dynamic engineering team responsible for developing and maintaining a container-based managed platform that powers multiple identity-related services. This role focuses on driving innovation, improving operational efficiency, enhancing platform security, and enabling scalable service delivery. As a key contributor, you'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure service reliability, optimize deployment processes, and deliver high-quality solutions aligned with business objectives. The position offers a hybrid work environment, supporting both onsite collaboration and remote flexibility.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain platform components and services leveraging .NET and Azure technologies.
- Debug complex issues across distributed systems and perform unit testing and code reviews to ensure reliability and adherence to coding standards.
- Participate in project planning, technical documentation, and cross-team collaboration to support ongoing platform migrations and integrations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues in collaboration with operations and support teams.
- Contribute to platform scalability, automation, and security improvements through containerization and cloud technologies.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into robust and scalable technical solutions.
- Support continuous improvement efforts by identifying opportunities to streamline operations and reduce cost of goods sold (COGS).
Qualifications
- 3–4 years of professional experience in software development or platform engineering.
- Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience with .NET development.
- Minimum 2+ years of experience working with Azure cloud services.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience with containerization or Kubernetes-based platforms.
- Strong debugging, testing, and documentation skills.
- Excellent collaboration and communication abilities in hybrid work environments.
- Must be able to work onsite 2–3 days per week and reside within 50 miles of the office.
- Minimum 12 months of availability remaining in contract commitment (9-month minimum required).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Kubernetes monitoring tools such as OpenTelemetry.
- Prior experience in large-scale platform development or supporting multiple service environments.
- Background in identity or access management systems.
- Proven ability to thrive in fast-paced, collaborative environments with multiple project stakeholders.
- Prior experience working in enterprise-scale environments or with global technology organizations.
Salary Range: Pay ranges vary based on multiple factors including, without limitation, skill sets, education, responsibilities, experience, and geographical market. The pay range for this position reflects geographic based ranges for Washington state: $100,000 - $110,000 USD/annually. The salary/wage and job title for this opening will be based on the selected candidate's qualifications and experience and may be outside this range.
