We're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight! This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

You will be asked to participate in a range of design reviews, review engineering drawings for large complex assemblies, develop and qualify materials and processes, and perform verification activities in accordance with our Parts, Materials, and Processes Plan. Your broad experience in materials & processes for metallics (e.g. forging, forming, extrusion, plating, corrosion, coating, brazing, anodization, welding, passivation), and non-metallics (e.g. O-rings, seals, lubricants) will be impactful to the team as we refine processes and engineering designs. You will be responsible for leading high impact technical projects that are directly tied to key initiatives within New Glenn and using your technical expertise to provide mentorship to colleagues and leadership. Specific to this role we are seeking an M&P engineer that has significant experience designing components such as valves and electromechanical actuators.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and handle small and large projects with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with multi-skilled teams across large geographic distances.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with materials performance under extreme thermal environments (i.e. cryogenic and elevated temperatures) and compatibility with a range of fluids typically used in space vehicles.
  • Experience with a variety of metallic and non-metallic material manufacturing technologies, particularly those required in the fabrication and performance of electromechanical actuators.
