Lunar Permanence Engineer

This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin's Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.

As part of a hardworking team of engineers, you will lead environmental test campaigns of communications based space grade hardware for all Lunar product lines.

Special Mentions:

  • Relocation provided
  • Travel expected up to 25% of the time
  • Shifts available: Standard 8AM-5PM Mon-Fri
  • Interviews will include a technical assessment

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Develop test planning for avionics and communication type hardware for Lunar hardware across MK1, MK2 and Transporter
  • Lead environmental test campaigns across lifecycles of avionics / communications hardware (DEV, ATP, QTP)
  • Interfacing with Responsible Engineers, Systems Engineering, Vehicle Engineering, etc. to understand the full verification and validation cycle
  • Lead root cause investigations and lead process improvements
  • Experience / deep understanding of communication hardware such as antennas, radios, amplifiers, etc.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS in Aerospace / EE / CS field of study
  • 3-5 years experience in the avionics test industry
  • 1-2 years experience testing avionics / communication space grade hardware
  • 1 year experience in a lead type role mentoring lower level engineers

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MS in Aerospace / EE / CS field of study
  • 5-7 years experience in the avionics test industry
  • 2-4 years experience specifically in the field of RF and communications

Compensation Range for: $126,898.00-$177,656.85 Other site ranges may differ

  • Required for Certain Job Profiles: Ability to obtain and maintain Merchant Mariner Credential, which includes pre-employment and random drug testing as well as DOT physical
