We're working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

This role is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit, where our focus is the design, development, manufacturing, and testing of engines and propulsion systems. Built for multiple uses, our family of engines is powering the next generation of rockets for commercial, civil, national security, and human spaceflight.

As part of a hardworking team of engineers, you will design, analyze, develop, and support testing of BE-4 turbomachinery components and subsystems. This team works cross-functionally with hardware, BE-4 engine system, and test teams to deliver reliable engines and analytical models to inform component and subassembly performance. This role will focus on continuing to develop and apply tools and analytical models to improve component performance trending and design correlations after engine testing for BE-4. This role will continue to fuel the design loop from concept, development, qualification, and flight. This will directly support the main turbopump through engine testing and flight, as well as early development component designs. You will be responsible for owning a technical area of expertise within the main turbopump, as well as expected to support engine testing for the entire assembly.

This role will require you to have a system level understanding of turbomachinery for component performance and life assessments. The ideal candidate will not only support building tools, but be able to apply them to support new component designs and optimize current subsystems within the main turbopump. A successful candidate will have experience relating to turbomachinery component's complete product life-cycle from initial requirements through flight qualification including design, test support, performing test data reviews, improving test analysis tools, and writing technical reports. You will need to have a background in fluid mechanics, heat transfer, structural mechanics, mechanical design, and coding languages (python and SQL) to be successful. This candidate must be comfortable taking initiative, working cross-functionally, and ready to support the larger team for future successful missions. You will be reporting directly to a Turbomachinery Manager within the Engines business unit.

We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and dedication to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!
