Must Have Skills:

ServiceNow Platform Testing Expertise

• Strong hands-on experience in testing ServiceNow modules like ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, CSM.
• Functional & Regression Testing
• Ability to create and execute detailed test cases, test scenarios, and regression test suites.
• Automated Testing Framework (ATF)
• Proficiency in using ServiceNow ATF for automated testing of forms, workflows, and UI policies.
• Defect Lifecycle Management
• Experience with defect logging, tracking, and resolution using tools like JIRA, ServiceNow, or similar.
• Agile Methodology Experience
• Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum environments, participating in sprint planning and retrospectives.

Good to Have Skills:

• Basic ServiceNow Development Knowledge
• Understanding of scripting (Client Scripts, Business Rules, etc.) to better interpret developer changes.
• Integration Testing Experience
• Exposure to REST/SOAP API testing between ServiceNow and other platforms.
• Knowledge of ITIL Processes
• Familiarity with ITIL framework and how it aligns with ServiceNow implementations.
• Performance & Security Testing Awareness
• Basic understanding of performance bottlenecks and role-based access testing within ServiceNow.
• CI/CD Pipeline Familiarity
• Awareness of DevOps pipelines and tools used in ServiceNow deployments (Jenkins, Git, etc.).

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with developers, BAs, and product owners to understand requirements and use cases.
• Design and execute comprehensive test strategies, including functional, regression, integration, and UAT.
• Develop and maintain test scripts using ATF for automated regression testing.
• Document test results clearly and report defects promptly with necessary logs and reproduction steps.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies like daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Continuously improve test coverage and optimize test processes.
• Work closely with developers to understand release impacts and coordinate smoke testing.
• Assist in creating reusable test assets and maintain traceability matrices.
• Support release cycles, validate production deployments, and participate in post-deployment verification.
• Contribute to knowledge-sharing initiatives, test documentation, and best practices for ServiceNow QA.
