Black & Veatch is seeking a skilled and motivated ServiceNow Software Asset Management (SAM) Administrator to support our enterprise IT Asset Management (ITAM) initiatives. This role focuses on maintaining and optimizing the ServiceNow SAM Pro module to ensure software compliance, accurate asset tracking, and efficient license management. You'll work closely with IT, procurement, and business teams to manage software assets throughout their lifecycle, support audits, and contribute to continuous improvement of SAM processes.

Black & Veatch's Business Enablement consists of critical groups that help enable the organizations people, projects, and businesses to be as successful as possible. Functions in this group include Digital & Information Technology, Global Finance, Global Human Resources, Legal, Risk Management, and Government Affairs and Real Estate and Building Services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain software asset records including software models, discovery models, entitlements, and allocations.
  • Resolve unmatched or partially normalized software discovery models to ensure accurate data.
  • Configure and maintain SAM Pro features such as normalization, reconciliation, and license optimization.
  • Support software request workflows through the ServiceNow portal, including catalog item creation and portal enhancements.
  • Collaborate with IT, procurement, and finance teams to align SAM activities with organizational goals.
  • Participate in software compliance remediation and entitlement reconciliation.
  • Generate reports and dashboards to support audits and provide insights into software usage and compliance.
  • Maintain documentation for SAM configurations and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 2+ years' experience in IT Asset Management or related field
  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Software Asset Management or IT Asset Management, with hands-on experience using ServiceNow SAM Pro.

Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity with ServiceNow modules such as CMDB, ITSM, Discovery, and ITAM.
  • Basic scripting knowledge (JavaScript, Glide) is a plus.
  • Understanding of software licensing models (e.g., per-user, per-device, subscription, concurrent use) and compliance requirements.
  • Experience with asset lifecycle management and software audits.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

  • Normal office environment
  • Hybrid or flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments.
  • Work involves sitting most of the time, working with computer, keyboard, mouse and headset
