Responsible for the preparation and service of meals in a retail cafeteria setting, ensuring that food is cooked safely and efficiently while upholding a clean and organized workspace. Collaborates with team members or operates independently to meet all customer needs. Delivering an exceptional customer experience is a top priority, with service provided on a first-come, first-served basis. Strict adherence to the cafeteria menu and compliance with food health and safety regulations are essential. Demonstrated proficiency in operating all necessary equipment, including cash registers and point-of-sale systems.
Provide fast, friendly, and professional service to all guests
Prepare and cook a variety of meals in a cafeteria environment
Operate and sanitize all necessary food service equipment (grills, fryers, ovens, steam tables, warmers, etc.)
Operate a cash register or point-of-sale system, handle cash, make change, and issue receipts
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary workspace
Label, date, and store food properly and adhere to First In, First Out (FIFO) procedures
Check and document food temperatures to ensure safety standards
Follow recipes and adhere to diet restrictions and allergen guidelines
Assist team members and guests while maintaining a positive, professional attitude
High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required
Previous food service or customer service experience a plus
Basic knowledge of cash handling procedures
Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Dependable with consistent attendance and a positive attitude
Comfortable with medium physical activity, including lifting (up to 50 lbs), standing, and bending
Familiarity with food safety and sanitation standards
Preferred: ServSafe certification
