Environmental Services Tech

Responsible for performing a variety of cleaning, servicing, and replenishing duties in assigned hospital areas to maintain patient, medical, visitor, and administrative spaces in accordance with sanitation and cleanliness standards. Adheres to safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and hospital procedures to ensure a safe and sanitary environment for patients, staff, and visitors. This position works on one of the following shifts: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM, or 11:00 PM – 7:30 AM, with every other weekend and holidays as scheduled.

Pay: $16/hour

What You'll Do

  • Provide daily housekeeping services in patient care areas, including 7-step cleaning procedures.
  • Clean lounges, restrooms, nurse stations, and offices.
  • Pick up waste, empty garbage, sanitize containers, and replace trashcan liners.
  • Replenish soap, paper towels, and tissue supplies as needed.
  • Maintain equipment and supplies; report deficiencies in equipment, furniture, or fixtures.
  • Service and clean patient rooms upon discharge; prepare beds for the next patient.
  • Assist with patient care, including reporting emergencies and following universal precautions.
  • Maintain patient privacy, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
  • Promote positive relationships and communication with patients, visitors, and staff.
  • Attend in-services, department meetings, and complete required competency and continuing education requirements.
  • Follow all safety guidelines, including Fall Precaution Guidelines and infection control protocols.

What We're Looking For

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • Previous healthcare experience preferred, but training is provided
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established cleaning procedures
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Dependable and punctual with consistent attendance
  • Ability to maintain patient safety and follow infection control protocols
