Your Mission

We are seeking our first Front-End Web Engineer to join the Door to Door team. This pivotal role will directly contribute to one of BlaBlaCar's key strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to rapidly iterate while also considering future system scalability.

Team Autonomy and Impact

Our team operates with a high degree of autonomy, fostering an experimental environment within BlaBlaCar's technical stack. You will contribute to various external scopes, including enhancing both passenger and driver experiences, while maintaining strong ownership of our core domain as a standalone supply. As a Frontend Web Engineer, you will be part of the BlaBlaCar's Front-End Web Engineering Chapter, its community and contribute to the web applications platform skelethon.

Your Responsibilities

1. You will work closely with the product manager, product designer and other engineers to ensure that the product meets business needs and user requirements
2. Design, develop and maintain high-performance and scalable features within BlaBlaCar product
3. Ensure that the product is developed according to best practices, coding standards, and BlaBlaCar architecture principles
4. Work closely with other teams to ensure smooth integration with existing systems and leverage what's in place
5. Participate in design and code reviews
6. Interact with people with different roles and backgrounds and sharing your technical expertise with a mix of technical, product and business experts
7. Proactively participate in BlaBlaCar's Front-End Web Engineering Chapter

Your Qualifications

• Proficiency in Typescript, HTML5, CSS3 and React
• First experience with tooling like Git, Docker, Node.js and observability solutions
• Full working proficiency in English
• Fit with our BlaBlaPrinciples
• Thriving in a collaborative, fast-growing and innovative environment
• Ability to take ownership, aligned with business priorities
Nice to have:
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes
• Experience with SEO and web performance optimization
• Past experience with mobile and backend development
