Sales Representative

An international trading company in Portland Office is seeking a sales rep who supports the achievement of the department's financial goals by maintaining/expanding existing business and supporting the development of new business in the food industry.

Responsibilities include:

• Support budget management of the department.
• Assist in development of a business plan and sales strategy.
• Assist in development of new importing & exporting business in the food industry.
• Negotiate and close terms of purchase/sales with supplier and customers.
• Contacting customers.
• Create new business and/or expand business.
• Monitor customer's financial situations and payment status.
• Ensure the business compliance.
• Research and analyze investment opportunities in the North American food industry.
• Supervise Sales assistant/Logistic specialist.

Responsibilities also include customer service as well as administrative tasks.

Requirements:

• 2-3 years of relevant work experience preferably in the seafood/marine products industry.
• Appropriate knowledge of FDA, USDA, and U.S. Customs is a plus.
• Knowledge of trade terms and food products.
• Strong interpersonal, negotiation, closing, persuasive skills.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to train sales assistant/Logistic specialist.
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office products.
• Business level Japanese. (speak, read, and write)
• Willingness to travel and work in a global team of professionals.
