Biotronik

Develops and manufactures innovative cardiovascular and endovascular medical devices, including pacemakers, defibrillators, stents, and remote monitoring technologies.

Senior Industrial Engineer

BIOTRONIK is one of the world's leading manufacturers of cardiac and endovascular implants and catheters for heart rhythm management, electrophysiology, and vascular intervention. As a globally active company with headquarters in Berlin, we develop, produce, and distribute high-quality medical products at the cutting edge of research and technology. Our success is based on the competence and result-oriented cooperation of our employees.

The Industrial Engineering department sets and creates the framework conditions and standards within which the manufacturing is established and operated. Furthermore, all major programs and projects that affect the OPS area are end-to-end managed and led by the team.

Your Responsibilities

  • Responsibility for the iterative development of location-independent lean factory concepts with a clear focus on NRO (neuro) products within a manufacturing cluster – end-to-end from material flow to sterile dispatch.
  • Ensuring all relevant substreams of the manufacturing concept (layout, material flow, automation, quality, traceability, validation) taking into account the lean development system and regulatory requirements – consistently aligned with the requirements of the production system.
  • Active portfolio management in the production cluster with a focus on NRO: holistic evaluation, prioritization, and control of all initiatives – including existing, new, and discontinued products as well as product improvements and capacity expansions – for optimal resource utilization.
  • Development of production standards such as physical factory, one-piece-flow, hands-off strategies, product-agnostic systems, and automation – specifically tailored to the requirements of neurosurgical products (NRO).
  • Definition and monitoring of relevant KPIs (e.g., FPY, OEE, defect rate, process capability) to control the NRO production and to ensure the achievement of goals in product development and improvement projects using industrial engineering methods and within the production system.
  • Responsibility for the further development of industrial engineering principles and methods as an integral part of the production system in the entire NRO operations area.
  • Coaching of employees and managers with a focus on lean methods, industrial engineering, and agile working methods.

Your Profile

  • Completed technical studies with a focus on metal/electrical engineering or a comparable qualification
  • Proven experience in project management as well as knowledge and application experience in industrial engineering and in the production system
  • Several years of professional experience in manufacturing or production planning
  • High degree of assertiveness and persuasiveness as well as a strong sense of responsibility
  • Enjoyment in moderating and managing interdisciplinary project teams
  • Fluent German and English language skills

What We Offer

  • Attractive collective bargaining agreements (IG Metall) including contract benefits, such as 30 days of vacation
  • Solid onboarding including buddy program
  • Job ticket and meal subsidies as well as a balanced food offer in several canteens
  • Company pension scheme
  • Mobile working and diverse health offers
  • A workplace with very good transport links and good parking facilities
  • Being part of a company that saves lives with its medical products
