Software Engineer Co-op

This is a software development position. The Software Engineer Co-op will work under the direction of a technical lead and in collaboration with other software engineers to design and develop software application code. Primary duties include:

  • Analysis and implementation of use cases and user stories in application code, including relational database modeling
  • Detection, analysis, and resolution of defects and inconsistencies
  • Creation and maintenance of unit tests to verify function-level behavior
  • Contribution to automated tests to verify user-level behavior
  • Perform all work in compliance with company quality procedures and standards
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Required education, training, and experience:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • At least 1 year of a scientific degree program completed
  • No previous experience required
  • Must be currently enrolled in a BS or MS program in a related life sciences, computer science, data science, or microbiology program

Knowledge, skills, and abilities:

  • Consistently upholds and reflects the core ethical principles and values that bioMérieux promotes
  • Effective verbal communication skills
  • Written communications, including the ability to communicate technical data in written form
  • Thriving in a fast-paced environment by managing tasks, multitasking, and adapting quickly to maintain productivity
  • Skilled in MS Office tools including but not limited to Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel
  • Familiarity with software design concepts and software application lifecycle
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail

The pay for this role is $22.00.
