Operations Manager

Proximity Foundation is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Operations Manager to oversee our overall operations, fund allocation, and ensure the smooth functioning of initiatives. Reporting directly to the CEO, they will play a crucial role in shaping the foundation's strategies, optimizing resources, and ensuring the effective implementation of our programs. This is an individual contributor role that requires a strong ability to handle a wide range of operational tasks independently, while also taking the initiative to build and manage a team from the ground up.

You'll be responsible for —

  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the foundation, ensuring smooth functioning and alignment with our mission and values.
  • Developing and managing the foundation's operational budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maintaining financial transparency.
  • Creating and implementing operational strategies to maximize the foundation's impact and reach.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure the successful execution of our initiatives.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the foundation's programs to measure impact and identify areas for improvement.
  • Recruiting and assessing the right fit for both volunteer positions and regular hires, thus ensuring the team's growth and success.
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key partners, donors, and stakeholders to support the foundation's growth and sustainability.
  • Ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements related to the foundation's operations.

You need —

  • 5+ years of operations management experience, preferably in the non-profit or education sector.
  • Proven ability to independently manage trust funds, budgets, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in creating actionable reports using Excel.
  • Proven excellence in developing compelling presentations using PowerPoint or Keynote.
  • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.
  • Strong passion for education and commitment to empowering underprivileged communities.
  • To be deeply empathetic and have a strong rationale while taking decisions and driving things internally and externally.
  • Bonus points in case you've worked in the technology or engineering field.
