Insurance Customer Service Representative (CSR)

Founded in 1926, Tillman Insurance has been serving families and businesses across the Carolinas for a century. We're a family-owned independent insurance agency built on trust, service, and long-term relationships. As we continue to grow, we're looking for an Insurance Customer Service Representative (CSR) to join our team and help us provide outstanding support to our clients.

What You'll Do:

  • Be the first point of contact for customers by phone, email, and in-person visits.
  • Assist clients with questions on auto, home, and business insurance policies.
  • Process policy changes, billing inquiries, and claims submissions.
  • Maintain accurate client records in our agency management system.
  • Support our sales team with quoting, cross-selling, and retention efforts.
  • Deliver a friendly, professional experience that makes clients feel valued.
  • Maintain records of customer interactions and transactions, recording details of inquiries, comments, and actions taken in the agency management system.
  • Review audits or policies; verify accuracy and facilitate corrections, as needed, between client and carrier.

What We're Looking For:

  • Prior customer service or office experience (insurance experience is a plus but not required, - we'll train the right person).
  • Strong communication skills (phone, email, in-person).
  • Comfortable using computers and learning new systems.
  • A positive, team-oriented attitude with a desire to help others.
  • Possess a sense of urgency, attention to detail, organization, multi-tasking, and follow-up skills, and the ability to handle difficult situations with customers and solve complex problems without direct supervision.
