Senior Director, Performance Marketing
We are looking for a Senior Director, Performance Marketing who will lead the strategy, execution, and optimization of all paid media strategy and execution across digital and retail channels. This leader will allocate and optimize the marketing budget across search, social, programmatic, and retail media to deliver measurable growth. They will combine analytical rigor with cross-channel leadership β guiding internal managers and agency partners to achieve sustainable ROAS and incremental sales. This position collaborates cross functionally across departments, driving a measurable impact on growth, engagement, and profitability. Exhibiting strong leadership skills, a passion for our mission, knowledge of our consumers, and recent experience building and developing brands, especially in a fast-paced environment, are must-have attributes.
Tasks, Duties, & General Responsibilities
- Develop annual and quarterly paid-media strategy aligned to revenue goals and budget guardrails.
- Manage agency relationships across paid search, social, programmatic, and retail media.
- Own channel allocation and optimization β balancing DTC and retailer media efficiency.
- Partner with Brand and Creative teams to ensure asset relevance and test frameworks.
- Collaborate with Analytics on attribution, MMM, and incrementality studies.
- Lead weekly performance reviews and re-allocation decisions to maximize ROI.
- Identify emerging trends, tools, and platforms to maintain a competitive edge in the digital ecosystem.
- Oversee creative and messaging tests to improve CTR, CPA, and ROAS.
- Coach and mentor a small in-house performance team (3β4 channel leads).
- Present performance dashboards and insights to the executive leadership and finance.
- Partner cross-functionally to ensure all-channel strategies align with brand and business goals.
Leadership/Supervisory Duties
- Coach and mentor a small in-house performance team (3β4 channel leads).
- Develop talent through on-going performance feedback and career management coaching.
- Conduct mid-year and yearly performance reviews of all direct reports.
- Set annual and quarterly department level KPIs and OKRs.
- Mentor and develop team members, create succession plans, and identify key talent.
Qualifications
- BA required.
- 8β12 years of digital marketing experience with strong paid-media ownership; at least 3 years leading a team.
- Proven ability to coach, lead, and mentor a team.
- Expertise in Meta, Google Ads, Amazon Ads, and retail-media networks (ie., Walmart Connect, Instacart).
- Proven record of optimizing >$5M annual media budgets with measurable ROI.
- β₯95% on-time campaign launches.
- Blended ROAS β₯3.5.
- Incremental digital sales lift +8β10% YoY.
- CAC reduction β₯15% vs. prior year.
- Deep familiarity with analytics, pixel tracking, and marketing attribution models.
- Experience working within a CPG or omnichannel environment (retail + DTC).
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Analytical skills with consumer and sales data from internal and external sources.
- Excellent communication and coaching skills.
- Ability to cultivate an inspirational and creative team environment.
- Should possess a natural curiosity to understand what drives consumer behavior.
- High emotional intelligence with the ability to influence key stakeholders.
Work Environment
- Located at our Corporate Headquarters in El Segundo, CA 5 days a week.
Annual salary commensurate with experience. The starting annual base pay for this role is between USD $210,000 and $240,000. The actual base is dependent upon many factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. The role may also be eligible for bonus and benefits.
