Flutter UK & Ireland is the UKI region of Flutter Entertainment. Role Purpose:
The Security Operations Intern is a member of the Flutter UK&I security operations team, reporting to the Security Operations Manager. This role provides hands-on experience in security monitoring, incident response, and threat analysis, contributing to the protection of Flutter UKI enterprise information systems. The intern will assist in identifying, investigating, and mitigating security threats while supporting the overall security posture of the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Phishing Investigations & Response. Analyze reported phishing emails, assess threats, and escalate malicious attempts
- Data Loss Prevention Investigations. Support analysis of DLP alerts to detect potential data exfiltration risks
- Security Monitoring & Response. Monitor security alerts through SIEM, EDR, and other security tools to detect threats.
- Incident Response Support. Aid in investigating security incidents, assisting with triage and escalation
- Assist with forensics analysis and fact gathering. Analyze security logs, email headers, and metadata to identify suspicious activity
- Complete daily standard operation procedures and follow up actions
- Support efforts to improve security posture

Key Skills:
- Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity concepts and best practices
- Understanding of common cyber threats, attack techniques, and vulnerabilities
- Basic familiarity with networking protocols, principles, and security fundamentals
- Working knowledge of Unix and Windows operating systems
- Ability to handle sensitive information with the highest level of confidentiality
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Capability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, and multitasking environment
- Exposure to scripting or programming languages such as Python, Java, or similar is beneficial
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English
Nice to Have:
- Prior experience in related fields such as Security Operations Center (SOC), Network Operations Center (NOC), System Administration, IT Helpdesk, or Platform/Tool Support is advantageous
- Industry-recognized certifications (or working towards) in cybersecurity or technology domains are a plus
- Security Tools Exposure of SIEM, email security gateways, endpoint security tools etc.
