Role Overview:

As a Data Engineer, you will contribute to our organizational success by:

• Designing, building, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and infrastructure that support analytics, machine learning, and business decision-making across the company

• Bridging technical and business needs by translating data requirements into reliable and efficient data solutions

• Having a bias for action by solving complex data challenges and continuously improving data platform reliability, scalability, and performance

• Collaborating with analysts, data scientists, product teams, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality, actionable data products

• Using strong technical and communication skills to operate effectively in a fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

• Design, build, and maintain scalable batch and streaming data pipelines to support analytics and business operations

• Develop clean, efficient, and well-documented code using technologies such as Python, SQL, and distributed processing frameworks (e.g., Spark)

• Ensure data reliability, accuracy, and timely availability across data platforms

• Work closely with data analysts, data scientists, product managers, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver data solutions

• Translate business problems and analytical needs into technical data engineering tasks and implementation plans

• Monitor data pipelines, identify issues proactively, and troubleshoot incidents in a timely and systematic manner

• Implement and maintain data quality checks, testing frameworks, and observability practices

• Document data sources, transformations, and architecture decisions to ensure maintainability and knowledge sharing

• Contribute to agile ceremonies including sprint planning, code reviews, and retrospectives

• Support operational readiness for new data platform releases and enhancements

• Contribute to clear stakeholder communication and technical documentation

Skills, Capabilities & Experience Required:

• Proven experience (typically 2–4 years) in data engineering, analytics engineering, or software engineering with a strong focus on data

• Strong SQL skills and proficiency in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or Scala

• Hands-on experience with modern data engineering tools such as Databricks, Airflow, dbt, Spark, Kafka, or similar technologies

• Good understanding of data modeling concepts, data warehousing architectures, and ETL/ELT best practices

• Experience working with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure)

• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including BI, analytics, or data science teams

• Familiarity with version control systems, CI/CD pipelines, and collaborative development workflows

• Exposure to data governance, privacy, or compliance practices is considered a plus

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse teams across various departments, fostering open communication and shared goals (Win together / Collaboration)
