Remote Technical Support Representative

You'll love it here! We are hiring immediately for a remote technical support representative, which we call a remote service agent, to join our team of technology experts who install, fix, solve, and enhance technology products via phone and chat for clients across Canada!

Join us at Geek Squad (the technical service organization of Best Buy Canada). We are looking for people just like you, to provide technical support to our clients.

As a remote service agent, you'll enjoy the flexibility of working from home while supporting our 24/7/365 business. Here's what you can expect:

  • Work up to 24 hours per week over a maximum of 5 shifts
  • Shifts are up to 8.5 hours, with varying start and end times
  • Flexibility as business needs may fluctuate week to week

As a remote technical support representative, you will create an amazing customer experience by:

  • Performing product repair, troubleshooting, upgrades, installations, and other services using remote desktop software
  • Providing tutorials to clients on the proper use of their products
  • Identifying and recommending solutions based on customers' needs
  • Completing training to continuously improve the client experience

What we are looking for:

  • 1+ years of help desk or technical call centre experience
  • Experience in troubleshooting and/or repairing devices
  • Completion of high school diploma or equivalent
  • Verbal and written proficiency in English
  • Availability to work at least one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday) is required

Your home office comes equipped with:

  • A door. Home offices are required to be private, quiet and not in a shared space (ie: your living room).
  • Subscription to a high-speed internet connection
  • A computer with a monitor, speakers, webcam, anti-virus software and a USB or 3.5mm PC headset

Your device must meet the following requirements:

Windows Devices:

  • Windows 11 or later
  • Trusted Platform Module (TPM) version 2.0 or higher
  • Virtualization-Based Security (VBS) enabled
  • Secure Boot turned on
  • Memory Integrity under Core Isolation turned on

Mac Devices:

  • MacOS 13.0 or later
  • Chipset: Apple-manufactured (M1 or higher)
  • Biometric Setup: Touch ID must be enabled
