As a Climate FinTech, we at Bees & Bears are convinced that capital is the key to accelerating the energy transition. The challenge we face is enormous: by 2050, $150 trillion (!) must be invested worldwide to achieve climate neutrality. 65% of these investments must be financed by loans.

Our mission is to direct capital into the sustainable economy to accelerate transformation and make the world greener.

What we do: We work closely with installers of climate hardware such as energy storage, solar panels, and heat pumps – and enable their customers to finance their systems conveniently through installments. Our platform provides the technical and financial basis for this. Thus, we accelerate the energy transition concretely – for households, for partner companies, for the planet.

We have just collected 500 million euros in financing commitments to make 25,000 households greener in the next two years. Previously, several renowned VCs invested in us in a pre-seed round – since then we have been developing with high speed.

As part of the finance team, in your role as Payment Operations, you ensure that all payments between our customers, partner companies, and financing structures run smoothly. You will take responsibility in a dynamic environment with high process reliability, customer orientation, and a focus on scalability.

Tasks

• Operational responsibility for all payment processes
• Processing and control of payment inflows and outflows including repayments
• Independent processing of payment requests and disputes
• Maintenance and reconciliation of payment data as well as systematic error analysis
• Cooperation with customer support, accounting, partners and external service providers
• Support in the development and automation of payment processes

Qualification

• Experience in the field of Payment Operations, Finance Operations or comparable
• Very good understanding of payment flows and platform transactions
• Secure handling of common tools (e.g. Excel, payment provider systems)
• Structured , very careful workmanship and high self-responsibility
• Fluent German (C1) and English (C1) language skills
• Practical experience with EBICS procedures for the secure processing of bank transactions
• High level of integrity and reliability , especially in handling sensitive financial data and direct access to business accounts
• Fun in operational excellence , clear communication and efficient cooperation

Our application process:

1. Short get-to-know-call (15 min) An initial short meeting to check if it fits in principle.
2. Technical interview with Jakob (Co-Founder, Capital) You will talk directly with Jakob about your background and key topics in the financial sector.
3. Take-home case study + review with Jakob You will receive a practical task to take home, which you will then discuss in detail with Jakob.
4. Deep dive with Carlo (Head of Risk) In a further conversation with Carlo, you will deepen technical questions around finance, risk, and your approach.
5. Final conversation with Marius (Co-Founder, Distribution) Finally, you will meet Marius, get insights into our vision – and we will see together if it is also a human match.
