Lead a team of direct and cross-functional reports while overseeing current and future single cell multiomic hardware (automated and manual) platforms and solutions. Assess on-market technologies and aid in driving internal strategy for future development activities and products. Conceptualize designs and system integrations, define requirements, engineer prototypes, test and document outcomes for next generation single cell analysis solutions. Collaborate with existing partners and suppliers while fostering new partnerships for future products and systems. Present concepts, designs, and data in a clear and concise manner to an audience with a diverse technical background. Hands-on mechanical prototyping, assembly, and iteration of new concepts and designs. Hands-on expertise in automation technologies, programming languages (Python etc.), electromechanical components, pipetting and fluid mechanics, and industry standards. Design and lead single cell workflow experiments in the lab from sample preparation, cell capture, library preparation, and sequencing (e.g. exposed to single cell antibody-oligo labelling, PCR amplification, library preparation, and next generation sequencing). Hybrid in-office/remote position.
Ph.D. in Engineering (any), Science or related field of study and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation in which the required experience was gained. In lieu of a Ph.D. in Engineering (any), Science or related field of study and three (3) years of experience, the employer will also accept a Master's degree in Engineering (any), Science or related field of study and six (6) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation in which the required experience was gained. Must have demonstrated experience with: Mechanical, mechatronic and robotic systems; Robitic liquid handling, control systems and software language (Python); 3D CAD modeling (SolidWorks or Creo), large assembly management and collaborative, modular design techniques; Analysis software with thermal, structural, acoustic and fluid analysis (Comsol, Ansys or OpenFOAM); Engineering standards (ASME or GD&T) and design best practices (DFX); Failure Modes and Effect Analysis (FMEA), Design Verification and Validation and design documentation of mechanical hardware; Root Cause Analysis, tolerance stack-up analysis (Worst Case, RSS or Monte Carlo); Single cell rapture systems and design of single cell experiments; and Electrical engineering design and PCB.
Salary offered for the position is: $165,367.53 - $175,900.00/year.
