Senior Manager, Strategic Operations

BD is one of the largest global medical technology companies in the world. Advancing the world of health is our Purpose, and it's no small feat. It takes the imagination and passion of all of us—from design and engineering to the manufacturing and marketing of our billions of MedTech products per year—to look at the impossible and find transformative solutions that turn dreams into possibilities.

The Office of the CEO is recruiting a Senior Manager, Strategic Operations to support the execution of enterprise priorities by integrating cross-functional initiatives, driving operational rigor, and enabling strategic agility through disciplined program execution.

This is a high-impact role within a cross-functional team that advances enterprise priorities through operational excellence and strong execution, directly supporting the CEO's agenda with clarity, speed, and rigor.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the execution of enterprise strategic priorities by translating defined strategies into structured operational plans, roadmaps, and integrated workstreams across functions and regions, with a focus on major initiatives, transitional work processes, and process re-engineering.
  • Partner with senior leaders and program sponsors to drive progress on priority initiatives, ensuring scope, achievements, and success metrics are clearly defined, monitored, and managed.
  • Contribute to the sequencing and coordination of initiatives to enable strategic agility while maintaining execution rigor.
  • Flex resources and priorities as business needs evolve across functions and geographies.
  • Act as a day-to-day integrator across cross-functional teams, ensuring dependencies, handoffs, and interconnections between initiatives are visible and proactively managed.
  • Support the development of efficient end-to-end work processes and portfolio coordination mechanisms to prioritize effort and improve outcomes.
  • Facilitate alignment across functions by supporting governance forums, preparing integrated updates, and escalating risks or trade-offs as needed.
  • Build strong working relationships with functional partners to reduce silos and accelerate enterprise outcomes.
  • Monitor operational performance indicators and support the development of actionable insights and reporting that link execution to enterprise priorities.
  • Support the deployment of standardized processes, operating models, and procedures that improve efficiency, consistency, and execution reliability.
  • Own or co-lead defined workstreams within large, complex programs, ensuring delivery against agreed timelines, quality standards, and resource expectations.
  • Support program governance cadence, including preparation of materials, tracking of actions and decisions, and follow-through on commitments.
  • Identify emerging risks, issues, or capacity constraints and proactively propose mitigation options.
  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience preferred, including project management and/or management consulting, with increasing responsibility across complex initiatives.
  • Demonstrated ability to understand how individual initiatives connect to broader enterprise objectives and ensure day-to-day execution remains aligned.
  • Experience managing multiple initiatives simultaneously, including planning, achievement tracking, dependency management, and issue and risk escalation.
  • Exposure to operational excellence, lean, or continuous improvement methodologies that strengthen execution rigor and efficiency.
  • Strong capability to work effectively in a matrixed, cross-functional environment, driving alignment and outcomes without direct authority.
  • Proven ability to act as a connector across teams, surface trade-offs, reduce silos, and accelerate decision-making.
  • Track record of identifying inefficiencies, supporting re-engineering efforts, and helping embed standardized processes or operating models.
  • Strong analytical skills, including the use of benchmarks, dashboards, and performance insights to identify gaps and inform improvement actions.
  • Acts as a change ambassador by reinforcing new processes, tools, and enterprise ways of working.
  • Strategic problem solver who can integrate short- and long-term priorities to achieve positive business outcomes.
  • Willingness to travel, including internationally, up to 40%.
