About The Job
1. Purpose and Key Objectives:
Provide key coordination support to the effort of the CIB Operations department in its reliable and efficient running and in achieving the sustainable growth of the CIB lines of business. This shall be done through close collaboration and alignment with all relevant stakeholders, including:
- CIB Operations teams globally;
- CIB Businesses: Global Markets, GTB, IB&F
- Transversal, support, and control functions: Group Engineering, CIB Engineering, CIB Finance, CIB Internal Control, Internal Audit, Compliance, Accounting, etc.
2. Key Responsibilities:
Key support for the facilitation of the definition and implementation of the strategic vision of CIB Operations through:
- Steering the performance,
- Governance, organizational set up and culture of CIB Operations;
- One of the representatives of CIB Operations for transversal strategic, governance, regulatory, and organizational topics.
3. Key Tasks:
Strategic steering and performance monitoring:
- Preparation, documentation, articulation, and communication of outcomes of strategic workshops;
- Preparation and coordination of budget and resource planning and definition of operational excellence targets to CIB Operations teams;
- Monitoring and communication of the progress of key strategic initiatives;
- Monitoring of CIB operations performance.
Governance, organizational set up and culture:
- Support the definition of the organizational set up, mandates, and culture underpinning the delivery of the strategic objectives;
- Definition of forums/committees and participants (including for forums not chaired by CIB Operations);
- Coordination of the implementation of new regulatory and governance processes in CIB Operations;
- Oversight for risk-based reviews of existing governance frameworks;
- Definition and monitoring of CIB Operations' key performance indicators for governance (e.g. internal and external audit points resolution, process breaches, etc.).
4. Level of Complexity & Risk Involved:
The purpose of the Head of CIB Operations Excellence is to support the department's effort in ensuring its targets are achieved with the lowest operational, regulatory, and compliance risk and highest sustainability possible. The complexity of the role is derived from the very large number of stakeholders and potentially conflicting interests that may arise due for example to finite resources or ambitious timelines. The main risk attached to the function is inaccurate, partial information leading to an inability to take decisions or taking sub-optimal decisions. Such risk will be managed through establishing a strong focus on creating highly pertinent, transparent, and cost-efficient activity information databases allowing the production of impactful management information.
5. Requirements:
- More than 7 years' experience working in the Corporate & Investment Banking industry and/or in Banking Operations, Consulting, Business Processing, Target Operating Models;
- Experience in contributing to transformational initiatives;
- Ability and experience in working with professionals of multiple expertise and seniority levels;
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills including excellent communication and presentation skills;
- High degree of proactive behavior, creativity, and accuracy;
- High dedication to the team and the bank;
- Reliable, trustworthy, and high level of integrity.
- Minimum C1 level of English.
6. Management Responsibilities:
- Member of the CIB Operations Management Team;
- Responsibility for a team of 3 people currently.
