Trainee Locomotive Engineer Linz

Tasks that will excite you:

  • You will drive up to 10,000 PS powerful locomotives and the latest railcars on different routes in the large ÖBB rail network.
  • You will responsibly and punctually bring people and goods to their destination.
  • You will impress our customers with up to 230 km/h fast or up to 3,000 tons heavy trains.
  • We will provide you with a specialized training adapted to your prior knowledge as well as ongoing technical and operational training.

Expectations you will meet:

  • You have successfully completed your locomotive engineer training and possess a valid EU driver's license.
  • You have very good German language skills in both spoken and written form to ensure successful and safe communication with our passengers and colleagues.
  • You are reliable, punctual, and safety is your top priority.
  • You have an impeccable reputation.

An offer that will convince you:

  • A one-time bonus of € 5,000 gross (only applies to applicants who have not been employed in the ÖBB group in the last 12 months) after at least 6 months of company membership and passed examination to obtain an additional certificate of the ÖBB-Produktion GmbH for all classes A and B on the ÖBB network.
  • For the position of "Locomotive Driver," a minimum salary of € 44,487.80 gross per year is provided, with a collective agreement exceeding salary of at least € 46,471.04 gross per year.
  • The weekly standard working time is 38.5 hours, overtime worked will be paid.
  • Early establishment and design of the work schedule.
  • Start and end of the work shift at your place of work.
  • Performance-related additional benefits of an average of € 600 gross per month excluding overtime.
  • Higher valuation of night work time by 25% per hour.
  • Annual bonus of up to € 700 gross.
