Summary:

Displays standard engineering principles to resolve difficult problems, from conception to final design with team input. Plans, schedules and leads project assignments in the evaluation, selection and adaptation of various engineering techniques, procedures and criteria with minimal guidance.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities:

• With minimal guidance, schedules and leads a team through the planning and execution of a smaller project or defined piece of a larger project. This includes constructing detailed, accurate project schedules, interfacing with development groups and technical support groups.
• Devises new approaches to complex problems through adaptations and modifications of standard technical principles.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Supervises/coordinates an engineer and/or technicians on assigned work.
• In order to keep up to date with procedures relating to product development the Principal R&D Engineer shall be expected to develop new products or sustain the existing product portfolio.
• Ensure that the right choices are being made with regards to material choice, overall set design and supplier selection within the Baxter operation.
• Knowledgeable of various manufacturing processes such as: assembly, extrusion and moulding.
• Work towards meeting the intended use of the product in the various countries of sales, as applicable to the project s/he is leading.
• Work towards developing/sustaining a product in accordance with Baxter's defined Quality and Regulatory standards.
• Be responsible for finalizing any reports/presentations related to their projects and any other necessary reports as the need arises.
• Responsible for the development and guidance through projects of R&D personnel.
• Responsible for the assignment of project activities within their project team, in order to meet committed milestones and project objectives.
• Assist in the following aspects wherever transfer of equipment or processes takes place: 1) Preparation of feasibility studies and design reviews; 2) Identification and co-ordination of any necessary modifications; 3) Validation of components transferred from other Baxter plants 4) Installation and validation of moulding equipment transferred from other Baxter plants.
• Design Verification and Validation are to be carried out in accordance with ISO Standards, CE Norms, country specific norms and Baxter's Quality Manual.
• Design Verification Testing is to be planned/executed based upon knowledge of materials, fluid dynamics and correct usage/applicability of available equipment.
• Be able to work with the Project Management Office (PMO), to plan out resources, budget, timelines throughout the project development lifecycle.
• Be able to present the work achieved by their team to different stakeholders (as applicable).
• Design with manufacturability in mind; leading their team through various development activities that would eventually allow a smooth design transfer to manufacturing.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Engineering or equivalent
• 5 - 8 years related experience
• Field of expertise: Technical Management, Project Management, Leadership

At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The minimum salary for this position is €36,800.00 annually. Your initial pay could be at the minimum or higher based on location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors, all of which are subject to change. This position may also be eligible for competitive benefits, discretionary bonuses, and/or long-term incentive.
