We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our Digital Team for Infusion Pumps product. As a Senior Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and deploying scalable and reliable data pipelines to support our AI/ML-based product that calculates clinical limits for infusion therapy executed with Infusion Pumps. Your expertise in data engineering, architecture, and software development will help us improve the accuracy and reliability of our product, ultimately enhancing patient care.
Design, develop, and deploy scalable and reliable data pipelines to collect, process, and store large datasets of historical infusion therapy data
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, clinicians, and engineers, to understand data requirements and develop data pipelines that meet those requirements
Ensure data pipelines are compliant with regulatory requirements, including but not limited to:
FDA guidelines for Software as a Medical Device (SaMD)
CE marking requirements
ISO 13485:2016
Design and implement data architecture to support AI/ML model development and deployment
Choose and implement data storage solutions, including but not limited to:
Relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL)
NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra)
Data warehouses (e.g., Amazon Redshift, Google BigQuery)
Ensure data is properly indexed, partitioned, and optimized for query performance
Develop and deploy data processing workflows to transform and load data into data warehouses or other data storage solutions
Implement Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) processes to extract data from various sources, transform it into a standardized format, and load it into data warehouses or other data storage solutions
Ensure data is properly validated, cleaned, and formatted for AI/ML model development and deployment
Ensure data is properly secured and compliant with regulatory requirements, including but not limited to:
Data encryption
Access control
Data backup and recovery
Collaborate with the security team to ensure data security and compliance
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, clinicians, and engineers, to understand data requirements and develop data pipelines that meet those requirements
Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, including clinicians and product managers
Participate in cross-functional teams to ensure data pipeline development and deployment meet business objectives
10-15 years of experience in data engineering, software development, or a related field
Strong background in programming languages, including but not limited to:
Java
Python
C++
Experience with data engineering frameworks, including but not limited to:
Apache Beam
Apache Spark
Apache Flink
Experience with data storage solutions, including but not limited to:
Relational databases
NoSQL databases
Data warehouses
Experience with data processing and ETL tools, including but not limited to:
Apache NiFi
Talend
Informatica PowerCenter
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
Experience with regulatory requirements for SaMD
Familiarity with ISO 13485:2016 and FDA guidelines for SaMD
