What You'll Be Doing:

  1. Defines design requirements and hardware specifications based on customer or user requirements.
  2. Contributes to the development and documentation of electronic system architectures.
  3. Lead the creation of designs of analog and digital electronic circuit schematics for microcontroller based systems, meeting performance objectives.
  4. Analyzes circuits using calculation and simulation methods to assess performance limits, effects of environmental and load stresses, and timing interfaces to ensure consistent performance in safety critical applications.
  5. Ensures successful integration of electrical design with mechanical and software elements of the system.
  6. Completes deliverables related to design of systems and sub-systems of the overall electrical architecture.
  7. Develops, modifies, and approves electrical design documentation, specifications and drawings.
  8. Supervises/coordinates an engineer and/or technicians on assigned work.
  9. Defines appropriate test methods to verify designs meet their performance requirements.
  10. Directs the layout of circuit assemblies to meet emissions and immunity performance requirements and design for manufacturability guidelines.
  11. Transitions products to manufacturing and ensures robust products and manufacturing processes.
  12. Resolves competing constraints between interrelated functions (engineering, purchasing, manufacturing, regulatory, marketing, etc.) required to deliver the product to market.
  13. Executes protocols and testing required to validate the safety and effectiveness of the design(s).
  14. Leads the troubleshooting and problem solving efforts related to electrical aspects of devices and associated systems.
  15. Creates and communicates design/test plans, tasks, deliverables and status. Manages time and resources to meet committed schedule milestones.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelors in Electrical or Electronics or related Engineering plus 5+ years of experience.
  • Experience on electro-mechanical hardware development and design.
  • Experience in design of embedded microcontroller based electronics devices, including FPGA-based, digital and analog design.
  • Experience testing electronic devices to meet immunity and emissions requirements.
  • Experience using CAD systems for printed circuit board schematic design and layout (Altium Designer, preferred) and data acquisition software (LabVIEW).
  • Specific experience in design and development of sensing subsystems highly desirable.

At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $104,000 to $143,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
