Engineering - Trainer / Assessor

Permanent contract, 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year. Manage, review, assess and train/support a caseload of learners who are based in the workplace and are currently undertaking Apprenticeships. Working with employer partners and college delivery teams to ensure that their learning experience is well co-ordinated and of a high quality, individual progress is monitored/supported, ensuring apprentices are prepared well for end point assessment and achieve their Bath College is an inclusive education and training community, providing learning for people with a wide range of abilities from a far-reaching area, from entry level to Level 5 programmes. Key Responsibilities

To provide induction, assessment, training, coaching, teaching and assessment to apprentices who are undertaking Apprenticeship Programmes and supporting qualifications. To assess apprentices' progress and maintain records of assessments of learning carried out. To create an engaging learning programme that inspires and motivates apprentices to improve their knowledge, skills and behaviours in the field of plumbing and heating. Develop a flexible learning programme that accommodates group delivery and 1:1 delivery, offering a digital learning platform in addition to traditional face to face learning opportunities. Deliver knowledge-based learning modules in accordance with assessment guidelines and co-ordinate classroom learning through other college teams as appropriate.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Level 2 (e.g. GCSE) English and Maths at Grade B or above. Qualified to NVQ Level 3, or equivalent, in an engineering discipline preferably, Machining, technical support role, Inspection or Maintenance. Assessor to demonstrate a commitment to complete the TAQA Assessor Award within 12 months. Industry qualifications must include: Apprenticeship certificate L3 NVQ in disciplines mentioned above. L3 City and Guilds or BTEC. Full UK Driving Licence and use of own vehicle.
