Bartlett Regional Hospital is searching for Fiscal Technicians to join our Patient Financial Services team.

Under direct supervision, this position represents the entry/trainee level and is designed to introduce Bartlett's procedures, standards, and policies related to collections. The employee receives training in at least one specialty insurance and is responsible for contacting and collecting payments directly from patients, setting up and processing payment plans, and performing a variety of patient accounting related tasks in the collections office in accordance with established policies and procedures. This position is also responsible for sending out patient statements and printing bills when necessary. BRH Fiscal Technician I is responsible for effective communication both personally and via telephone/fax/computer with the public and other hospital departments. This is a flexibly classed series requiring incumbents to advance to the Fiscal Technician II to III level. Continued employment is conditional on the incumbent's ability to advance to the Fiscal Tech II to III level.
Under general supervision, the incumbent of this position continues to expand their knowledge and abilities to process more specialty insurance collections. At this level, the incumbent develops proficiency in at least two additional specialties. This position is responsible for the accounts receivable for various commercial insurances as well as self-pay collections as assigned. This includes but not limited to Blue Cross, Aetna, and Workman's Compensation. This includes having knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, billing, and insurance specific rules for assigned insurances in related specialties. The Fiscal Tech II is a point of contact for patients with billing, insurance and coding questions. This position is responsible for contacting and collecting payments directly from patients, setting up and processing payment plans, and performing a variety of patient accounting related tasks in the collections office in accordance with established policies and procedures. This position is also responsible for effective communication both personally and via telephone/fax/computer with the public and other hospital departments. This is a flexibly classed series requiring incumbents to advance to the Fiscal Technician III level. Continued employment is conditional on the incumbent's ability to advance to the Fiscal Tech III level.
Under general direction, this position is the journey level of the Fiscal Technician series and is responsible for the accounts receivable collections for various commercial insurances. At this level, the incumbent is knowledgeable in two or more specialty areas and carries out the full scope of work with minimal supervision. This includes, but is not limited to Medicaid, Blue Cross, Aetna, and Workman's Compensation. This position requires Hospital Presumptive Eligibility (HPE) Certification as well as extensive Medicaid knowledge. The incumbent will be responsible for contacting and collecting payments directly from patients and setting up and processing payment plans. This position will also perform a variety of patient accounting related tasks in the collections office in accordance with established policies and procedures. The incumbent of this position is responsible for effective communication both in person and via telephone/fax/email with the public and other hospital departments. This position is also a resource to lower level Fiscal Techs within the department.
Minimum Qualifications for the Job:
Pay rate will be determined based on applicable personnel rule or union contract terms.
Step placement and rate of pay will be determined based upon relevant experience.
