Our Process Engineer will be responsible for improving existing technologies for producing chocolate and/or cocoa products for the Barry Callebaut group. Within this role, you will support manufacturing operations teams with building and maintaining process and people capabilities, implement projects and collaborate with the Global Process Excellence and CI & TS (Customer Innovation and Technical Support) counterparts. This role also supports the evaluation, recommendation and the implementation of new process development technologies that optimize performance, are cost effective, and will improve product quality and manufacturing techniques.
Degree in Engineering (food or chemical engineering, electromechanics, etc.), Bioscience-engineering, Chemistry or Physics with a first professional experience (3-5 years), ideally in chocolate and cocoa production, a background in process control is a plus. Fluent English language skills, both written and spoken. Knowledgeable in MS Office Suite. SAP Systems and other applications used in manufacturing e.g. scheduling, CMMS, MES advantageous. Highly motivated to learn, grow, and become a domain expert in production processes, with strong interest in modern technologies. Solid understanding of how product (food science) and machinery interact, supported by experience scaling processes from lab/pilot to industrial production. Manufacturing experience is essential; background in the food or process industry is a strong advantage. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to leverage manufacturing data for insights and decision-making. Technically skilled and comfortable collaborating with operations, engineering, and innovation teams, including hands-on support on the shop floor.
