Infrastructure Engineer

Join Barclays as an Infrastructure Engineer and play a key role in delivering Data Caching solutions on Barclays container platforms. This is a hands-on infrastructure role where you'll design, build, and optimise in-memory Data Caching products like Redis and GridGain for Kubernetes-based platforms. You'll be responsible for the Caching services offered on container platforms, ensuring it's robust, scalable, and secure. Working in Agile, distributed teams across UK, India, and the US, you'll apply DevOps principles to deliver innovative, high-performance infrastructure solutions that enable our applications to run at their best.

To be successful in this role, you will need the following:

• Expertise with Kubernetes / Container platforms, such as Red Hat OpenShift.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code, CI/CD, and automation tools, such as Ansible and GitLab.
• Strong understanding of Agile application development methodologies.
• Proven ability to align cross-functional teams on priorities, goals, and deliverables.

Some other highly valued skills may include:

• Familiarity with in-memory caching technologies, such as Redis and/or GridGain.
• Experience with programming languages, including Java or Python.
• Understanding of API development and best practices.
• Advocating a culture of Site Reliability Engineering practices to continuously measure, optimise, and improve systems.

The successful candidate will be based in Radbroke Hall, Knutsford.
