Operations Specialist, Trust & Safety
We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Operations Specialist to join our Trust & Safety team. You will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of our platform by supporting quality assurance (QA), operational monitoring, and investigations that protect our users and strengthen our enforcement systems. In this role, you'll review and evaluate moderation outputs, investigate trends, and improve the accuracy and consistency of moderation workflows. You'll also assist in preparing, labeling, and analyzing data to uncover emerging risks — partnering with cross-functional teams to turn operational insights into data-informed safety improvements. This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their career who enjoys structured problem-solving, process improvement, and data-informed decision-making in a mission-driven environment.
Why You'll Love This Role
- Play a hands-on role in protecting our community and improving Trust & Safety operations every day.
- Combine analytical thinking with operational impact to design smarter, safer systems.
- Grow into a cross-functional T&S operator with exposure to analytics, policy, and product development.
- Learn advanced safety analytics (e.g., graph analysis, behavioral modeling, NLP) — no prior expertise required.
- Mentorship from experienced Trust & Safety leaders and benefit from flexible, remote-friendly work options.
What You'll Do
- Conduct QA reviews and operational checks on moderation and enforcement actions to verify accuracy, identify gaps, and recommend improvements.
- Prepare, label, and analyze data to support QA reviews or investigations into harmful or suspicious activity.
- Assist with process improvement for recurring operational issues through policy calibrations and moderation playbook updates.
- Support performance reporting and trend monitoring through clear reports and dashboards, ensuring Trust & Safety metrics are accurate and actionable.
- Carry out investigations into emerging risks, coordinated activity, or policy edge cases.
- Analyze and share data insights on trends or anomalies in user behavior, content types, or enforcement outcomes.
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Policy teams to translate findings into data-informed interventions and feature improvements.
- Document and communicate findings and operational learnings clearly across teams.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- 1–3 years of experience in QA, content moderation, investigations, or data operations (entry-level candidates with strong analytical skills are welcome).
- Strong analytical judgment and ability to assess moderation quality and consistency objectively.
- Proactive and curious mindset — able to spot trends, inconsistencies, or emerging risks from data or investigations.
- Excellent attention to detail, documentation, and cross-functional communication skills.
- Proficiency in basic data tools (Excel, Google Sheets, or similar) for data manipulation and management.
- Collaborative mindset — able to partner effectively with Policy, Product, ML, and Operations teams.
- Self-motivated, growth-oriented learner who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Bonus Skills:
- Experience preparing or analyzing large, unstructured datasets (e.g., user activity, content, enforcement logs).
- Experience building or maintaining QA frameworks or evaluation rubrics for moderation or enforcement review.
- Experience supporting machine learning workflows, such as data labeling, quality checks, or feature validation.
- Experience supporting dashboard creation or metric development to monitor abuse trends and measure moderation performance.
- Familiarity with business intelligence or visualization tools (e.g., Metabase, Tableau, Power BI).
- Interest or experience in data programming languages (SQL, Python, R) for analytics or automation.
- Interest or experience in exploratory analysis to distinguish normal vs. suspicious or coordinated user behavior (e.g., spam, fake accounts, influence campaigns).
- Awareness of basic clustering or anomaly detection techniques to identify emerging abuse patterns in user behavior or language.
Location and Benefits
This role is open to candidates located anywhere in Malaysia. Only candidates based in and authorized to work in Malaysia without the need for a work permit or visa sponsorship will be considered. Benefits:
- Health insurance
- Paid annual leave, paid sick leave, and maternity leave
