As a Senior Technical Support Chemist, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive technical support for the selection, evaluation, and recommendation of chemical products used in tenders, new business opportunities, and existing contracts. This role is fundamental to ensuring optimal product performance, supporting field and laboratory tests, and generating technical reports that support commercial and operational decisions.
Responsibilities
• Provide technical support and conduct necessary tests for the selection and recommendation of chemical products in tenders, new business opportunities, and current contracts. Includes demulsifiers, corrosion inhibitors, scaling inhibitors, paraffins and asphaltenes, biocides, defoamers, foamers, among others.
• Conduct bottle tests for the evaluation, development, and selection of demulsifiers and clarify agents, as well as tests required for other chemical treatment products according to laboratory capacity.
• Prepare technical reports for recommendations, failure evaluations, tenders, contracts, and other requirements.
• Create, manage, and follow up on ideas in Clarity for technical support requested by the U.S. team in the evaluation and development of products.
• Create and follow up on Product Requests necessary for the introduction of new products, inclusion of existing products, types of containers, generation of SDS in Spanish, among others.
• Conduct technical presentations to clients.
• Provide technical support in field tests when necessary.
• Support the region in technical support activities when required.
• Ensure the availability of technical resources necessary for support activities, including laboratory equipment.
• Search, request, and/or update together with the SD Technical Manager the technical data sheets of the chemical products required for technical proposals to clients.
• Provide support in cases of non-conformities, incidents, or failures that affect the client or the products, participating in root cause analysis.
• Support in the search for technological solutions that allow reducing chemical product costs.
• Provide technical guidance for cost reduction, including recertification of products, verification of applicability in other projects, and technical support in cases of non-conformities that may generate penalties.
Requirements
• University degree in Chemical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Chemistry Licensure. • Minimum 10 years of professional experience. • Experience in the Oil & Gas industry. • Conversational English (essential).
