This role will coordinate the necessary work activities beyond organizational boundaries to ensure Baker Hughes executes work according to client expectations and contract terms.

Job Description

Coordinate and ensure the safe, efficient, and precise delivery of directional drilling services, from well planning to execution and completion, ensuring optimized trajectory, adherence to drilling objectives, and client satisfaction.

Functions And Responsibilities

  • Develop and review directional drilling programs, including BHA, torque/drag models, hydraulics, and directional control strategies.
  • Coordinate resources, tools, and personnel needed (MWD/LWD, motors, RSS, special BHA).
  • Validate the availability and certification of critical tools (sensors, probes, motors, RSS).

Operational Management

  • Supervise directional drilling execution from surface/remote, ensuring compliance with BHGE and client standards.
  • Monitor key parameters in real time:
    • Inclination and azimuth
    • Dogleg severity (DLS)
    • WOB, RPM, differential
    • Vibrations, shocks & stick-slip
  • Support trajectory correction decisions, BHA changes, and parameter optimization.
  • Ensure integration with MWD/LWD, geonavigation, drilling fluids, and surface drilling.

Client Relationship

  • Serve as the main point of contact during planning, operations, and post-job.
  • Present technical proposals, orientation analyses, projections, and operational recommendations.
  • Participate in DWOP, HAZOP, pre-job, post-job, and operational reviews.

Cost Control And KPIs

  • Monitor consumptions, operation times, and adherence to AFE curve.
  • Ensure job profitability through optimization of times, reduction of NPT, and efficiency improvement.
  • Perform final reports with:
    • Trajectory summary
    • Actual vs. planned
    • Incidents
    • Opportunities for improvement
    • KPIs (ROP, deviation, DLS, NPT)

HSE

  • Ensure compliance with safety standards during all directional drilling operations.
  • Lead STOP WORK initiatives and risk mitigation processes.
  • Support incident investigations and ensure implementation of corrective actions.

Quality And Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure data conformity (sensor health, survey quality, MWD telemetry).
  • Implement lessons learned in future wells.
  • Monitor BHA, motors, RSS, and tool performance to improve reliability.

3. Position Requirements

Education

  • Petroleum, Mechanical, Electronics, or related engineering.

Experience

  • Minimum 5 years in directional drilling (field directional + MWD/LWD + office support).
  • Proven experience in:
    • High performance downhole motors and BHA
    • Rotary Steerable Systems (RSS)
    • Survey management / anti-collision
    • Slide drilling & rotary drilling
    • Geonavigation (preferred)
